Beet Greens for The Moose

Time to make a new snack pack for The Moose. I call his finger foods his snack pack. I make a snack pack every few days and give him a couple spoonfuls while I cook dinner. He eats on a pack for a few days, then I throw out what's left and make a new one. It really doesn't get much easier than that to feed your baby healthy fruits & veggies!

Tonight, his snack pack got a boiled egg (farm fresh, of course), goat cheese, beet greens, and a spiced apple. After I cooked dinner, I added some patty pan squash from our dinner to his snack pack. He didn't get any tonight, but it'll be there for him tomorrow.

Here's how I made his beet greens (I am saving the beets for me for beet chips). The beets are from Cardo's farm project.

 Chop the greens.

Add to a pan with coconut oil. Season as desired. I add herbs and spices to all of The Moose's food.

That's spiced apples in the back pan.

That's his snack pack. I did add patty pan squash to it later. Now his dinner is cooked for the next few days! Boiled egg, goat cheese, spiced apples, and beet green (with patty pans for tomorrow).
