Drug Emporium Haul

I love Drug Emporium. It's a local drug store with a huge organic/vitamin/natural section with the best prices.

See what I buy next month here.

If someone said "here's a lot of money. Go shopping." I would hit up Drug Emp, Anthropologie, and Sephora (yes. I know. Makeup is the most hypocritical thing I do. I love makeup. I don't wear a lot but I like playing. I will tell you more later. But I get the irony of a natural blogger loving Sephora).

Speaking of makeup, I watch YouTube makeup videos (told you I love makeup) and the makeup gurus are always showing "haul" videos. Just videos of how much stuff they bought. So here's my Drug Emp haul.

I will write more soon about my supplements and daily routines very soon. I have lots to say. But here's what I got yesterday.

From left to right (I will go into more depth on everything in the future):
  • Witch Hazel: I use this for The Moose's diaper wipe solution
  • Cod Liver Oil: I love this stuff. It is full of omegas, DHA, and lots of other good stuff. When I drink this, I can definitely see it in my complexion. I mean, it does great stuff for the guts, but most of you want to know, "But how does it make me look?" (hence why I told you to compost because it makes your trash smell better.) It gives your skin a glow. You face will be a little extra dewy. For the "boring" benefits, it helps joints, brain development, heart health, blood circulation, and more. Google it. The Moose & I both take it. I take 2 spoonfuls a day and The Moose gets 1 spoonful in a bottle of goat's milk.
  • Vitamin E Oil: An antioxidant. I mix it with my argan oil and coconut oil and use it topically (I tell you all about that soon). What you will notice cosmetically: reduced under eye circles & puffiness. It reduces scarring. In general, it's just a great antioxidant for your skin. It's not super expensive and a little dab will do ya, so get some and add it to your lotion or use by itself.
  • Aloe Vera Juice: Hydrates from within. I am a big believer of hydrating inside out. It helps with sun protection (so do all the antioxidants I mention), makes you look glowy and dewy, and is just good for you. Aloe juice also helps with digestion. I take a big sip daily and The Moose gets a spoonful in a bottle of goat's milk.
  • Probiotics: This one took me awhile to wrap my head around. What is a probiotic? This is a really dumbed down explanation. There are 2 types of bacteria, good and bad. If you have more bad bacteria than good, you get sick. If the good bacteria are winning, you don't get sick. Probiotics are good bacteria. They are also great for digestion (you've seen the Jamie Lee Curtis yogurt commercial). You can also get probiotics from raw fermented veggies, which is something I will explore in the future. I haven't tried this brand probiotics yet. This is the brand The Moose takes (he gets a powder form in a bottle of goat's milk, I take a pill). UPDATE: I have been taking this brand for over a month now. I LOVE it. This is my new probiotic brand!
  • Baking Soda: This is my cosmetic baking soda. Meaning it's not what I use for cleaning (I use the cheap stuff for that). I use this with my soap. It's a great exfoliator. I keep a container of this in the shower, dip my wet fingers in it, then add a couple drops of Dr. Bronner's liquid soap. That's my face and body wash. I also make deodorant and toothpaste with it. I also wash my hair with baking soda. I know. Whhhhaaaatttt?!?! Yes, I "no poo."  I have not used shampoo in over five months. Crazy, huh? I will tell you more I promise. I posted a picture of me below taken about 2 weeks ago to prove I'm not covered in grease.
  • Goat Yogurt: That's The Moose's. He loves goat yogurt more than life itself.

I know what you're thinking. Who spends this much money on this stuff? Yes, I know I spend more than most people on supplements. But it's a priority of mine. I don't get expensive hair cuts (I cut my own hair), I don't buy expensive hair products (I wash my hair with baking soda; yes, I will explain soon), the only money I have spent on clothes all year is altering a few pairs of pants, you get my point. This is a priority of mine. And I put my money where my mouth is.

I try to limit my visits to Drug Emporium once a month. Several of these products last several months. But I have other supplements or oils that will need to be replaced.

I do go to another local health store for dried herbs and coconut oil. Coconut oil might be the best thing on earth).>
