One Piece Wonder

I have had an excellent fourth of July. Concert on the square, a fabulous drink with fresh peaches and vodka, great grilled food, and hung out with my bff. I will tell you all about everything soon (with recipes!). But I can't contain this story one more second.

My brother and his family (girlfriend Katy and son Braylon) moved in with my dad this week. They have to be out of their old place tomorrow. So to give them time to do the moving thing, Braylon went to the fourth of the July concert on the square with us. Afterwards, we went to my dad's house to swim.

I tell Braylon to grab his swimsuit. He goes outside and grabs a suit that I assume was drying outside by the pool. I find out later that, no, my brother threw that by the pool for my 10 month old son (Braylon will be 4 in about 3 weeks).

This suit is a life vest with a speedo attached at the bottom. He strips down to his birthday suit so we can put on his swimsuit. And it's difficult. At one point I tell him to jump up and down to help me pull it up. Seriously, if you tell someone to go grab their suit and they bring one back, you assume they are telling the truth. At least I do.

And to top it off, after I got it on, he insisted that he needed his arm floaties. I asked him two or three times to confirm that he wore arm floaties with his huge life vest, and every time he confirmed that it was necessary.

So we swim for about an hour. Then Braylon's parents walk in. My brother, Scott, asks what Braylon is wearing. I tell him it's his swimsuit, really confused about why he doesn't recognize this life vest / speedo combo. Scott asks me if I bought it for him and if it's a girl's swimsuit. Again, I tell him that no, that's Braylon's suit.

Then Katy walks in and asks why Braylon is wearing his swimsuit from when he was 2 years old. After a few back and forths between me and Braylon's parents, I start to realize that I squeezed Braylon into a swimsuit that is made for 18-24 months and he will be 4 next month.

I seriously can't stop laughing.
