Denton Community Market 7/13/13

I volunteered at the Denton Community Market this morning with Cardo's Farm Project. It's always fun working the market, people watching, and chatting with everyone. But today was extra special. Cardo's asked me to print some recipe cards for beet chips and stuffed patty pans to pass out and make pickled beets to give as samples.

Click here to find out how to find local farms in your area.

Here's what I got at the market:
Onions, eggplants, Anaheim peppers, jalapenos, turnips, butternut squash, summer squash, parsley, carrots, and Swiss chard. All of it is for The Moose except the 2 types of peppers & onions. So I'll be making baby food this week and will share the process soon.

 That's Cardo's squash and cucumbers.

The Spiderweb Salon performed at the market today. They are a group of performance artists that met and everyone can share their art (poetry, music, etc.). Cool club!

Cool art on a vinyl record.

That's Marie. She's the farm manager at Cardo's. She performed her poetry with the Spiderweb Salon. She did awesome!

I love those little wool diapers. She makes them from old sweaters.
