Herbs and spices are so good for you. If you don't use them when you cook, you should. Each one does something unique for your immune system, digestion, & health. (It's still on my list to detail that for you. Work is crazy right now, but I will get to it soon!)
Today I got:
- Bay Leaves
- Garlic Powder
- Cinnamon Sticks
- Basil
- Cumin
- Nutmeg
- Thyme
- Red Chili Peppers
- Oregano
- 4 pounds of pinto beans (see my slow cooked beans here)
- Organic Toaster Pastries (like Pop Tarts; we eat a lot of clean, local food; But The Moose still gets fun snacks!)
- A brownie from their bakery
The brownie is for me! I love their yummy, chewy, fudgey brownies. The ingrdients are eggs, chocolate chips, butter, flour, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, almonds, and salt. Perfection!
All of that was $24.32. The spices were $10.71 of that. Buying spices in bulk is the best way to go. A lot less expensive and fresher. Instead of buying a jar of something you use once a month that goes bad before you use it all, you can buy just a tbsp or 2 of it at a time.
