I use Fuzzibunz diapers (find them here on Amazon) and Thirsties wipes (find them here on Amazon).
The Moose is 13 months old, he came home when he was 1 month old (he is adopted). I have been using a witch hazel and tea tree oil solution for the past 12 months. It works great and have no complaints. But I wanted to try something new. So I just switched to a Dr. Bronner's and aloe gel solution. I really like the new solution! I think I am going to stick with this for awhile.
Here is my original solution. I do about 1 part witch hazel (find it here on Amazon) to 3 parts water. Just eyeball it. Then I add about 2-3 drops tea tree oil (find it here on Amazon) in the larger orange spray bottles and just 1 drop in the small diaper bag bottles. That's it. I have 2 sprayers at the changing table and 1 sprayer in each diaper bag (I have a large bag and a small bag).
Here's my new solution.
- 1 tsp oil (I used olive oil because that's what I had, but almond, apricot, or grape seed are great options)
- 1 tbsp Dr. Bronner's (I used the baby formula - find it here on Amazon)
- 1 tsp aloe vera gel (see note below)
- 1 cup water
This made half of a large bottle and almost 1 full small bottle. Next time, I will triple it so I can fill all my bottles.
Note about the aloe vera gel - I accidentally bought this gel. I meant to buy the juice. The Moose & I both take the aloe juice as a supplement (see his supplements here). This gel has carrageenan (see my post about carrageenan here). I will not purchase this brand aloe vera gel ever again because of the carragennan.
