Here's my CSA share for the week from Cardo's Farm Project. Arugula, okra, eggplant, sunflower greens, radishes, turnips, and lemon basil.
This morning, I had a volunteer shift at Cardo's Farm Project. It was a beautiful morning. And bonus, I got to take The Moose! This was his first volunteer shift with me. Usually my dad (Pappy) watches him when I volunteer. But Dad's out of town, so he came with me! Here he is eating breakfast.
My current job during my volunteer shift is prepping for the farmers market. Market is Saturday, my shift is Friday morning. My 1st task is to break down the CSA pickup stand (CSA pickup is on Thursday night). So I break this down, pack it up in the wagon, and pack it up for the market.

Here's the cooler. This is the week's harvest. I go through it all and package everything for the market. There's leftover CSA produce mixed in that I go through as well and package what I can.
Here's braising greens, arugula, and sunflower greens.
The Moose munching on some sunnies.
The chickens got to pick through The Moose's breakfast leftovers! It's braising greens (from Cardo's), sweet potatoes (from Earthwise), grapes, orange, green beans, and okra (from Cardo's) cooked in coconut oil with cinnamon and ginger (a dash of cinnamon helps him be more adventurous with his veggies, plus it's good for his immune system). The Moose also got a fig newton (organic brand, of course) this morning, just because I wanted to keep him occupied a little longer while I worked.
Fun day at the farm!
