CSA Pickup from Cardo's Farm Project

CSA stands for community supported agriculture. Basically, shareholders pre-pay for the season and you get a weekly harvest. It's whatever is fresh and in season that week at Cardo's Farm Project. I love my CSA! By pre-paying, you are funding your local farm when they need it most. When they need to purchase seeds, fertilizer, new equipment, etc. Obviously, there are no guarantees on what you will get in your weekly share. So it's always a fun surprise!

I am a barter share holder with my CSA. That means I volunteer with them and I get my share for free! I get to hang out at a farm every week with some great people, spend some time outdoors, and I get free local, organic veggies. I would volunteer with them even if my share wasn't free just cause I love hanging out at the farm! (but don't tell Cardo's!).

Here is my share pickup from last week (6/27/13). The farmers set up the booth and then volunteers (sometimes me) manage it.
