Teriyaki Shrimp & Chicken Wings

I love chicken wings! Really love them.  Here's some yummy teriyaki shrimp & wings.

I love this brand of dressing. It's the only bottled ranch I like. Before I found this, I would usually make it homemade if I ate it at all. But this is yummy!

First make the teriyaki sauce. This sauce is a great meat marinade or the perfect sauce for a stir fry (I saved the remaining sauce. It's in my fridge for a stir fry later this week). It's best to make this the day before. I made it a few hours before using it today since I didn't plan ahead.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 oranges (juiced)
  • 2 tblsp honey
  • 2 tblsp minced fresh ginger
  • 3 green onions, minced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped

Chop the green onion, cilantro, ginger, and garlic. I chop it up all together to save time.

In a container, combine everything and stir.

Put it in the fridge until you are ready for it. Really, this is a great sauce to make for lots of things from a marinade to stir fry to wing sauce.

Chop up celery. Add carrots if you want. We are celery eaters with our wings in my house.

This watermelon is from Cardo's Farm Project. I cut it up for us to eat. But we drink all of my cucumber melon margaritas and had some tequila left. So.....we ended up making more margaritas!

I made my crispy baked fries. The trick to make them crispy is to pre-boil them before you bake them to remove the starch.

I used disposable wooden skewers for the shrimp. Be sure to soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before you grill them.

Peel your shrimp.

Skewer. We didn't season them because the teriyaki sauce is perfect & doesn't need it.

Ok, horrible blogger moment! I had company and forgot to take pictures before we ate it. I tossed the chicken and shrimp in the sauce (I saved what was left in the pan here for a stir fry later this week). It's all gone! Which always means success!

The Moose was patiently waiting for his snack pack! In this snack pack, he got watermelon (from Cardo's Farm), boiled egg (from Cardo's), potato with celery & cilantro, & spiced apples.
