There are about 20 different assorted fruits and veggies. I do not separate them when I store them, I just mix them all together. When I thawed them for The Moose, I would 3 or 4 similar items and thaw them together for a serving (so 4 fruits, or 2 green peas and 2 carrots, etc.). I know what some of them are. But some of them could be 1 of 3 or 4 different things. One of the trickiest is the beets, they look like a fruit.
Since The Moose won't eat pureed food anymore, and I have a ton of it, I thought I would experiment with smoothies!
I picked about a dozen cubes. I did mostly fruit (or what I think is fruit!) and a few greens.
I added about a cup of milk (this is low temp pasteurized), about 2 tablespoons local, raw honey I got at the farmers market yesterday, about 1/4 cup goat yogurt (that used to be The Moose's favorite, but he's not eating that now either. I think once he can work a spoon and feed it himself he'll like it again.), and a few tablespoons of rolled oats.
My experiment worked! I definitely ended up with some beets in here (not my fav). But other than that it's very yummy! I will be making a lot of smoothies over the next few weeks until I use up the frozen food.
So glad that you had all that leftover baby food, because it looks like it had a delicious smoothie calling! =0)
